When you receive your soy candle from me and are ready to enjoy it, please do not remove the warning label on the bottom of the jar.

Once the soy candle is lit, it should be allowed to burn until the wax has melted to form a melt pool that reaches the sides of the jar. This will allow the candle to emit the most fragrance. Unlike paraffin candles, soy wax candles rely on a melt pool to be developed before a full scent throw can be established. This will also allow a clean burn down the sides of the jar.

Before relighting a soy candles that has cooled and re-hardened, be sure to trim the wick back to 1/4". This will help the candle burn more efficiently and help maintain an even flame. Never trim a wick while the melt pool is still liquid.

Candles are safe when burned properly and responsibly, according to directions, and by employing some common sense. When burning any type of candle, you should always follow these basic safety rules:

1. Lighted candles should always be within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
2. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
3. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
4. Read and follow all instructions carefully.
5. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch each time before burning.
6. Always use an appropriate candleholder placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
7. Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, and air currents.
8. Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris at all times.
9. Do not burn a candle for longer than recommend.
10. Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room.
11. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the holder or container. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains.
12. Never touch or move a container candle when the wax is liquid.
13. Place lighted candles at least 3 inches apart from one another.

Following these basic rules will help ensure you enjoy your candles safely. Of course, common sense is also a factor when using any product.
